About Sentro
Sentro ng Kultura at Wika ng Austria at Pilipinas/Center for Austrian and Filipino Culture and Languages (Sentro) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization and non-political association. Its main goal is to highlight the importance of both cultures for the identity of children and youth. It was established in Vienna in 2010 by Arlene Castañeda and has been directed by her ever since.
Sentro’s members are volunteers. They are full-time professionals, yet they provide their talents and free time to support the association’s projects and activities, such as Tagalog language classes, cultural presentations, lectures about the Philippines and the Filipino community in Austria, webinars, summer camps and fundraisers among others.
